Designing Just

Futures

E-learning and design work that explore emerging questions and shape forward-looking solutions to advance health justice

At Health Justice, we believe that shaping the future requires both imagination and intention. Our Designing Just Futures initiative brings together our work in e-learning, speculative design, and systems innovation to help health-aligned institutions grapple with emerging challenges and co-create solutions grounded in justice, care, and accountability.

We develop frameworks, learning experiences, and prototypes that explore how emerging issues, like artificial intelligence, data equity, and systems transformation, can be approached in ways that reflect the priorities and lived realities of those most impacted by injustice.

As we expand our work in this area, our focus will include:

Design-based frameworks and prototypes that help institutions envision and build more just futures. These frameworks draw on human-centered and systems design principles to guide teams through collaborative problem-solving, surface root causes, and translate bold ideas into practical strategies.

Speculative and participatory design projects grounded in community wisdom and systems thinking.

Field-building initiatives that bring together practitioners, researchers, and community leaders to shape collective approaches to innovation.

Whether we’re helping health leaders think critically about emerging technologies or co-creating practical tools for long-term change, our goal is to ensure the future of health embeds justice from the start.
